Bow Fiddle Rock
I drove three hours across Scotland just to see this incredible place. I got out there about an hour before sunset and watched the storm roll in.
The wild north sea was battering the coastline of Northern Scotland. I had prepared for a wild evening, but on this day the rain was light, the clouds were quite high and the horizon on my right was clear.

It allowed me to get the best of the conditions; the beautiful warm sunlight hitting the side of the monolith juxtaposed with the moody darkness of the clouds above in the one shot.

I’ve seen dramatic photos here with the waves lashing, but I’m glad that what I captured was something completely different. As an added bonus, when the wind died down the seagulls settled on the rock and created an absolute circus.
