This location is a photographer favourite, but few make the fairly perilous trip down to the water's edge below the cliffs.
On this particular day, I knew this location would make for the most dramatic image, thanks to the rising tide crashing against the rocks and purple sky. Framing from this angle allows the water to come right in

underneath the lighthouse. Your eye is led from the rocks on the left, along the water's edge past the lighthouse to the vibrant sky on the right of the image.
Although the sky was it's most dramatic behind the headland to the west, the nothern sky over Manly provided enough colour to balance the image nicely.
