Every morning for about a week I dragged myself out of bed at 4:30am and checked the weather.

 

Unless it was raining I would drive down to HIckson Road Reserve and wait as the sun rose over the horizon behind the Sydney Opera House.

 

Most mornings I was only joined by a few joggers instagramming their morning run, but this particular morning I was joined by at least three other photographers.

 

We all knew something special was coming.

 

As the sun climb closer to the horizon a vibrant peach coloured light scattered through the light morning haze.

 

Using a long lens to pick out a small section of the scene, I captured the stark silhouette of the Sydney Opera House sails against the orange sky.
